After being labeled “a commie” because I only make video reviews of GMRS radios made in China, I decided to put together a list of all of the GMRS radios made in America. In the video below I go over this list of every GMRS radio that is actually manufactured in the United States of America, and I vow to purchase every one of these “Made In The USA” GMRS radios and make a video-review of all of the Made In The USA GMRS radio the next 30 days.
Great video, sad but true, thank god my jeep is mostly america made. Not new to gmrs, however just added zello, to my communications goodies. Soon i hope will be trusted to repeater, and thanks for your great videos.
It is sad, I worked in the manufacturing sector for a while and we were stamping made in the U.S.A. on our products, it actually should say assembled in the U.S.A. As all our parts and materials were foreign sourced 100%.
Why aren’t GMRS radios made with CB-style squelch tuning? Mic gain, and volume as well. It’s such a pain in the ass to fiddle with menu items on the fly. I run a CB next to my GMRS rig, and the side-by-side comparison leaves me longing for an operational equal every day. Thanks for the laughs, BTW
They are. It sounds like you did not do a very good job of shopping for the GMRS radio that is right for you.
West Texas CB user since 1973,,,
I Bought two UV 9g and have hell with them… tictictictic all fricken day long! Im pissed about this! LMAO! i WENT ON YOUR SUGGESTIONS ABOUT THE RADIO!!!! You need to tell ALL the truth!
Obviously they dont all do that, dumbass. Either you got a defective one(s) or there is something in your area transmitting signals/noise that you are hearing.
Send them back and get your money back if you’re not happy with your purchase.
Hey Randy I don’t know if you’ll ever read this bit does but I have a question. Can you recommend a tactical whip like antenna for the GMRS pro from B Tech? Thanks again for all of your hilarious videos. I love watching them.
Thank you for all of your help Randy. I have had a radio for about a week now. Your instructions have made it possible for me to journey to the center of the universe. Peace Out!
What if I don’t have any gmrs repeaters in my area where I live? What could I do? Thanks.
you could be a pillar of your community and put one up like i did!
Damn! Randy!
EXCELLENT VIDEO! Concise and to the point. Amazing ‘Murica has seceded the playing field to Asian MFGs.
Saw you on You Tube and liked what you are doing. I did subscribe. I wish you were my neighbor. I got a pair of Wouxon KG-UV9GPRO radios and Smiley antennas. Now I need to learn how to set them up especially with the repeater’s split tones here in Des Moines, Iowa. Time to order the Surecom 102 and dummy load. Keep up the great work. I drove Jeeps for 20 years in Duluth, MN. Now I have a GMC Acadia Denali.
Made in Philippines or Taiwan would be ok. Each is a free country, neither has hundreds of strategic nuclear weapons on a hair trigger against nato like russia and china do. 🙂 Did you have a list of those?
Ten-Tec and Elecraft make ham radio transceivers in the USA, not GMRS though. 🙂
