My Youtube channel is not a soapbox for other people’s stupidity – below is a list of what will get your comment removed/hidden (you will still see it, but nobody else will see it) from my Youtube channel:
#MYGA!
- Hateful / troll comments
- Comments with inaccurate information
- Off-topic comments or questions
- Lost/Misplaced comments
- Comments answering questions that nobody asked or that have already been answered
- Comments with unsolicited opinions
- Comments that recap what was said in the video
- Comments telling everyone what “I think”, when nobody asked what you think
- Stories, even if related to the video, that nobody asked to hear
- “Statements of fact” with no valid source for the “fact” being presented
- Comments stating “you should have done it this way”, “it would have been better if…” .. “I would have preferred if you did it this way”, or, “you did it wrong” (without a valid source to doing it “right”)
- Multi-paragraph long comments that could have been written in 2-3 sentences
- Over-use of technical jargon (aka: Trying to impress us)
- Comments promoting an agenda (personal or political)
- Comments that, as deemed by ME, are undesirable
Pinned Comments:
On my channel, comments demonstrating extreme stupidity, arrogance, butt-hurt’ness, virtue signaling, etc, will be pinned to the top of the comment list so that everyone can enjoy them. Replies to pinned comments will be limited to only letting the “Winner of the Pin” know what you think of their winning comment (opinions are welcome here). Other chitchat and cross-commenting will be removed so as to not distract from the winner’s original comment – we want to ensure that the winner gets all of the glory and attention they craved. Once pinned, the person that wrote the comment will not be permitted to reply.
Pinned comments may also be shared on my Twitter account to help the person achieve even more of the attention that they desired.
Dissenting Opinions & Making Corrections
As listed above, unsolicited opinions will be removed, however corrections are welcomed with the following restrictions: The correction must be written as if it was written by a grownup and must contain a source for the ‘corrected’ information. Pro Tip: Your opinion is not a valid source.
