The new Wouxun KG-916 handheld GMRS radio is set for release in the later part of 2021, but I was able to get some early information and photos of the pre-production models of the KG-916. The price has not yet been officially announced, but Wouxon has stated that they are shooting for the $120 – $140 range.
The KG-916 GMRS HT will be available exclusively from BetterSafeRadio.com.
Wouxun KG-916 Info and Specs:
The KG916 is a single-band UHF radio that’s very similar to the Wouxun KG-805G & KG-905G radios. The new KG-916 bridges the gap between those simple-to-use radios, and the more advanced, full-keyboard programability of the KG-UV9G PRO. The 916 does not have all the bells and whistles as the UV9G, but the KG-916 GMRS HT has a few unique new firmware changes to make it very simple to use for recreation and emergency use.
