We took a drive from Irwin Road in Barstow to Tonka-Town, then across the desert to Inscription Canyon, then headed west into Grass Valley, then over to Husky Monument.
See below for TWO .GPX files – One is the GPS track from Irwin Road to TonkaTown, Inscription Canyon and Husky Memorial – this is an easy track that any 4×4 vehicle can do. The second .GPX download is the route we took from Husky Monument out to Harper Lake in Lockwood – this is an easy trail but there are a couple of mildly rough spots that would stop a low-clearance vehicle.
This .GPX track starts at Irwin Road in Barstow and goes to Tonka Town, Inscription Canyon and the Husky Monument Memorial. This is an easy drive that any high-clearance vehicle can make.
This .GPX track starts at Husky Monument and ends on Hoffman Road in Lockhart – near Harper Lake. This is a mildly difficult track that requires a 4×4 vehicle with high clearance.
Thanks, been wanting to hit this trail for a while. ✌️
The Tonka Town to Husky Monument GPX file doesn’t import into Basecamp or Mapsource, gives an error in both.
