What is the official road & travel channel for GMRS? For a long time, there was no ‘official’ or widely used channel on GMRS for “highway” use. In the old days on CB radio, channel 19 was the ‘road’ channel, but for some reason that never carried over to GMRS.
Now, as of 2022, a GMRS road, highway and travel channel has been decreed – the official channel for highway and travel use is: GMRS Channel 19.

What a shit storm.you started with this…Ch 19 was a dumb ass choice..you can’t legally use it within 100 miles of Canada… So I guess those folks in Northern Michigan and upstate New York are just s.o.l. stupid
The general consensus on GMRS has always been channel 20.
